Relevance Criteria for Concepts

It must be attempted to name only concepts that fulfill the following four requirements.

R1
The concept must be specific to temporal databases. Thus, concepts used more generally are excluded.
R2
The concept must be well-defined. Before attempting to name a concept, it is necessary to agree on the definition of the concept itself.
R3
The concept must be well understood. We have attempted to not name a concept if a clear understanding of the appropriateness, consequences, and implications of the concept is missing. Thus, we avoid concepts from research areas that are currently being explored.
R4
The concept must be widely used. We have avoided concepts used only sporadically within the field.
