Important!!! Read the documentation below...

This is a very, very, very and very short documentation, the final release will have an extensive documentation.

The reason for this very prerelease of the beta version are that, the release date that I have set (for myself) has expired along time ago. And I cannot beta test all the different patches and hardware setups that are available. I was hoping that there were some people that could help me with this task.

About

AutodocViewer has been available for some time now, but after several requests for improvments from the users, and myself, I decided to create a new release, this Lite version is the result of several months of planning and programming. This release may contain numerous bugs, and it may also cause your Amiga to crash.

This beta release is made in pure assembly, and it do need some major optimazations, but that will be dealt with later.

Copyright

AutodocViewer Lite v2.0 is copyrighted (c) 1994-1999 by Ronny Tennebekk, the application is made available "as-is" and with no warranty for any damage it may cause.

Requirements

AutodocViewer Lite v2.0 requires AmigaOS v3.0 and CPU 68020 just to start. The memory requirements and free disk space depends on the configuration the user creates.

It's recommended that the users computer has at least AmigaOS v3.1, CPU 68040/40, 4Mb of free memory and about 2Mb of free disk space.

Usage

The usage of ADV Lite is very similar to the AutodocViewer v1.x releases, but there are some major changes.

First time ADV Lite is launched, it will ask for an directory, this MUST be the directory were the user has the asm include files (.i prefix). A later version will support C includes (.h prefix). The scanning of the includes will take a few minutes.

After all windows has opened AutodocViewer works just as the old one. But, when the user selects a function for viewing it will scan the selected function text for symbols found in the include files and already added autodocs. If the user has added all the includes and autodocs relased by Commodore, the scanning will take some time. This happens only the first time the function is selected for viewing, when the configuration is saved all symbols found will be saved with it. This is why the configuration file is approx. 500kb or bigger :-)

Planned features and notes

Planned features are

This list is much longer 8-C

While using ADV the user will realise that there many, many things that have not been implemented yet, if a function is not implemented a requester saying so pops up.

This release is SLOW, in many ways...

Since the RKM's are made in association with C includes, there will be alot of symbols which will not found
