Highlights of Amiga Active CD 1

Here are a few highlights of the first Amiga Active CD. This is only to get you started, the whole CD is packed with useful and entertaining material. These highlights contain a few pointers, but half the fun is in exploring the CD yourself.

The Magazine section

The Magazine section contains a wealth of files related to the articles and features in the magazine. When reading an article, be sure to check out any extras on the CD.

Specials this month include:

  • An exclusive playable demo of T-zer0
  • Pictures of the new Amiga, along with a speech by Jim Collas

Demos

A selection of Demos, including the highly-acclaimed TRSI-Rise. You may even find the occasional spinning torus in here.

Games

Owners of older, disk-based games check out the WHDLoad drawer.

Graphics

This month we have a full version of Personal Paint.

The Graphics drawer also contains a variety of paint and image processing software, including a demo of Extreme, a huge collection of filters for ImageFX, PPC speedups for ImageFX and NetPBM and a new MPEG video player.

Hardware

This drawer will contain a range of software to help you use other hardware with your Amiga, often hardware that wasn't originally intended for use with the Amiga. This month it has drivers for serial wheel mice and software to connect popular PDAs to the Amiga.

Online

In addition to a wide range of Internet, networking and other comms software, this section contains a searchable Aminet index. The next time you need to search for an archive on Aminet, don't run up your phone bill searching online. Searcch the index offline and only go online when you have found what you want.

Sound

OctaMED SoundStudio is widely regarded as the premier program of its kind. We have a full version for you.

The Sound drawer also contains a range of audio software and a collection of Mods for when you just want to sit back and listen.

Utilities

Something for everyone in here, from the smallest datatype to the largest astronomy program. There's also a collection of utilities and themes for Directory Opus users
