Injury worry for Jamaica Published: April 17, 1998
Jamaican midfielder Robbie Earle has a broken toe and is unlikely to play again for the national side before coach Rene Simoes announces his final party for France at the end of May. Earle played in the qualification matches for Jamaica after he funded his own trip to meet the side and Simoes and he is a very experienced player in the English Premiership with Wimbledon. Until this injury he was almost certain to make it to France as a member of the squad but his place may now be under threat ironically from some of the players he encouraged to play for Jamaica once they qualified for the Finals. He has been instrumental in introducing players in England to the Jamaican set-up. |
