Algarve coast is situated on the southern tip of Portugal.. sandy beaches and rocky coves. Temperature at this time of year about 70º F (21º C).

The teams participating this year were:

China, Norway, Portugal, Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Denmark.

The Algarve Cup was won this year by Norway who beat China 1-0 in the Final by a penalty kick awarded at the 71st minute after a Norwegian striker was brought down by China's goalkeeper. Although some felt that the player Medalen was brought down outside the box she fell into the area and goalie Zhou Yang was given a red card and expelled from the game.
