After waiting nearly four weeks to play their last league game, the U11 Blues were finally able to complete the rain delayed CSL season. The last game was of major importance to the "Baby Blues" because the league championship was in the balance. The Blues needed a tie or a win in their last game to clinch the CSL gold crown.

Fittingly, the last game of league would be against cross town rivals Mission Viejo. Fresh off a championship in the first ever Blues New Years Invitational, the U11 Blues appeared to be a bit tight. The would be spoilers Mission Viejo were able to put a lot of pressure on the Blues early and nearly opened up the scoring when one of their forwards blocked a Katie Fitzgerald clearance into her own path to goal for a great scoring chance. Goalkeeper Shayla Sabin, however, had the play of the day with an incredible point blank save to knock the ball over the bar.

The U11 Blues then seemed to get into rhythm using the 80 yard wide Rancho Capistrano field to their advantage. As they connected passes, offensive opportunities began to open up but Mission goalkeeper Katie Wright was equal to the task as the half ended 0-0.

The determined Blues came out strong in the second half as fullback Kiley Jones intercepted a pass at midfield then calmly fed a through ball to speedster forward Kendal Holiday who drove into the area and slotted away the game's only goal. To their credit, Mission never quit and narrowly missed several chances to tie the game up. The U11 Blues held on for the 1-0 win thereby taking the CSL Gold Championship.
