The Blues Finish Up The Summer
With Two Pleasanton Championships!

The Blues began their sixth year of existence with appearances in three major tournaments. While other clubs were busy training for some time in anticipation of the new season, the Blues' regularly scheduled practices began the week of July 15, with August's tournament play to follow. "It was important for our teams, especially the younger ones, to take a break from soccer", felt Director of Coaching Larry Draluck. "We needed time to regenerate our energy so we could head into the season with a feeling of excitement."

The Blues attended three major tournaments during the summer prior to opening up Coast Soccer League play. The Nike Surf Tournament was held on July 26, 27, & 28 for U10, U11, U12, U13, U14. The older teams (U15, U17, U18) had the Surf Tournament August 2, 3, & 4.

Team photos were taken on Saturday, August 10 at the Lake Field at 7:45 am during the Mission Tournament (who ever picked the time needs to be carefully examined).

The summer tournament season ended with a Labor Day weekend trip for the entire club up to Pleasanton for the Friendship Classic August 31, September 1 & 2. Festivities began with the annual club warm up for 130 girls and the 350 person Bar B-Q the evening of Friday, August 30. No, we didn't Bar B-Q 350 people.
