Kid's Domain Assistant ProducerI am the crazy lady who you see at the park playing with the kids in the sandbox. Yes, I still go on the slides and swings. And next to me is a rambunctious, red-headed three year old whose name is Sydney. I see parenting as a chance to relive childhood, in a way, and childhood is such an excellent state of mind!
I majored in Geology at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia- which furthur explains the sandbox. I love nature, so my daughter and I spend a lot of time "picking" rocks. She loves them all, but the "baby ones" are the best. So along with our two cats, we have adopted many homeless "babies". We hope someday to send them all out into the world to become honest, responsible and productive rocks.
West Virginia is nestled into the Appalachian Mountains, so nature is just a stone's throw away. We like riding bikes and "walking in the woods with Pa-paw". And although she doesn't understand evolution theories, Sydney thinks the "cre-ta-tus" fossils are cool.
I started work for Happy Puppy on the Kidz Page in January 1997. To say the least, the information was overwhelming for one person. Thankfully, those in charge noticed! Now as part of Kids Domain, I feel very lucky to be teamed with such an efficient and dedicated group. I find that there is so much more here than just a job. There are concerned friends helping me stay awake in the wee hours of "deadline night" with the familiar sound of the mail call. There is understanding in the team about parenting and family needs. And best of all is the ability to concentrate on our own children's education, while sharing this information with other parents. I hope you enjoy this site as much as we enjoyed building it!
