Description:

Piglet is the guide in this storybook. He'll discuss the features and options available. There are lots of activities, songs and, of course, the story of Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree.

Installation

No problems with installation here; the program does require 10 megs of hard drive space. It also works with Windows 95 Autoplay.

Options

As Piglet will tell, there are several options for you to consider. If you prefer, the story can be read to you - or choose to play IN the story. If you'd rather go to a special page, game or song, there's a way to do that too. Don't understand a word in the story? Just click on the Dictionary - when words are highlighted, click on the one you want and Piglet will explain the word's meaning and how it's part of the story. If you see musical notes, a song is waiting, just click. Toys indicate a game to be played.

Music Videos

Well, there are animated clips set to music, but the words don't light up with the music the way they should, and the music is extremely choppy. It was actually disappointing. The five songs included are "Winnie the Pooh," "Up, Down and Touch the Ground," "Little Black Raincloud," "Rumbly in my Tummy," and "Mind Over Matter." Looks as if maybe the minimum requirements were understated.

Games

We found four fun and unusual edutainment games in this title. In the first, Piglet describes a toy and the object is to click on that toy, which requires listening carefully and matching. The second is what we called the "Rabbit's Mess" game. After everything falls off the walls, your job is to put things away. Note that some items are turned the wrong way. Third, we played, "Find Rabbit's Honey," a Pooh favorite. Then, we helped Roo catch butterflies to entertain Pooh while he was stuck.
