Learning in Toyland is based on six best-selling Fisher-Price toys: Talking Smart Street, 3-in-1 Creativity Table, Big Action Garage, All-in-One workshop, Flip Track Mountain, and All-in-One Kitchen Center. Each toy offers two ways to play: following directions or open-ended. Also, many of the creations can be printed out and colored. Your child will find learning games, sing-along songs and fun interactive characters.

Comparisons

Learning in Toyland has some things that have been done before, such as coloring books - but there's a clever twist added to these. Children are instructed to "Color one train brown. Color 3 trains green" and are expected to complete the tasks in order. Just when I was getting SO sick of electronic coloring books, too!! The Big Action Garage is rather like Playskool's Play-doh Creations in that pieces can be put together to make the whole object.

Reactions

It's been extremely difficult to get this review written because of small children (ages 2 and 3) appearing at my side to ask if it's "my turn" yet. As soon as this product was installed, the kids were really excited about it. My 3 year old surprised me while playing the 3-in-1 Creativity Table because she chose the option to follow directions and actually DID! Our 2 year old enjoyed the Talking Smart Street activity, especially the sing-alongs. The only thing they didn't like was the gopher guide - gophers have been done to death lately! It seems like they appear in every title we've opened over the past few months. Anyhow, Learning in Toyland has become a fast favorite in our home.
