Description:

The Time Warp of Dr. Brain is the fourth Dr. Brain title in Sierra's series. This time, Dr. Brain has lost his car keys and ended up warping back in time into a mess of Primordial Soup. His only hope of getting back home is if you can bring him through time, solving each of the 10 puzzles. Each puzzle has three levels: Novice, Expert and Genius, and the entire program has over 600 puzzles.

The excellent documentation included with this title provides information on the Triune Brain Theory and the Theory of Multiple Intelligences. The games are carefully targeted to these theories and Dr. Brain will occasionally refer to them himself.

Features

  • Primordial Soup - learn about behaviors of primitive life form
  • Spelunking - help the lungfish navigate the maze
  • Lizards & Eggs - can you juggle all the factors at once?
  • Beaver Dam - Build that dam but look out for the turtles!
  • Caveman Rock - help the "rock" band recreate their recordings.
  • Monkey See Monkey Do - uses sign language and vocabulary in the game strategy.
  • Alchemy - can you recreate the chemical? It's harder than you'd think.
  • Gridlock - set up traffic routes and try to get home.
  • Spaceshop - build a space station to specifications.
  • Brain Waves - logic puzzles!

Reactions

The Time Warp of Dr. Brain provides an incredible amount of brain food and the fun kids (and adults) have with this title is amazing! Our favorite game is Primordial Soup - we attempted to play the network version but there were some messages about needing to upgrade the software and we got busy playing solo, never got back to it.

Dr. Brain is one of a number of innovative educational programs that uses indirect methods to teach about its subjects while it enhances thinking skills as the child plays.
