Thinkology - Volume 1: Clarity from Heartsoft, was designed to enhance critical thinking skills for children aged K-4. This is the first software specifically designed for Critical Thinking, and was created by leading experts from the Foundation for Critical Thinking. In Volume 1, two stories are presented. After listening to the story, children are led through a series of 10 activities, which helps them to identify clear and unclear ideas. The manual includes curriculum correlation materials and over 100 print activities to work on in the classroom.

Technical Aspects:

Thinkology installed with no problems and ran with no errors or bugs under Windows 95. The speech is nicely paced and very clearly spoken.

Reports and Conclusions:

Thinkology: Clarity would be an asset for any K-4 classroom, any homeschooling family and individuals, as well. It should be mandatory for those with Attention Deficit Disorder because those kids have such a difficult time with this very issue - distinguishing clear thinking. The teacher's manual included is excellent, and curriculum correlation materials save time in lesson planning. This program provides children with the confidence they need to ask for additional information when they don't understand, and gives adults ways to ask questions that will elicit more specific responses.

Besides all that, my kids think it's fun! They love listening to the characters and deciding which one is more clear. They also think it's very cool to do the worksheets and it's great to see a child's face light up as they realize they can DO this.
