Description:

Extra! Extra! Six Prominent Citizens of Bizarroville Disappear! And what do these people have in common? They were all invited to Dr. Dabble's Mystery Mansion for a party and never came out. No one can find Dr. Dabble, either, but you can bet he's been at one of his experiments yet again.

Reading Blaster: Ages 9-12 is a role playing game, in which the gamer becomes Rave, who explores Dr. Dabble's mansion for clues. After solving the mystery, kids are treated to a s-c-a-r-y ghost story! There are seven mystery adventure stories and these can be printed out, as well. Good luck! Be sure to read all the clues you find along the way, and when you're riding the ghosts in the catacombs, don't look down!

Features:

  • Over 75 unique mystery stories.
  • Three difficulty levels.
  • Covers four years of learning curriculum.
  • Master over 20 language arts skills.
  • Problem solving skills are enhanced.

Technical Aspects:

This title installed as quickly as Dr. Dabble disappeared the six Bizzaroville citizens! We had no problems running the program - no glitches, choppiness or bugs of any type.

Report and Conclusions:

The goal of Reading Blaster: Ages 9-12 is to "master reading comprehension for 4th, 5th & 6th grades." According to Davidson, parents buy education software to coach a struggling child or to challenge an advancing one. We had fun with this title - the games and activities are very innovative. Where else would you go ghost riding? The content is excellent, and with four years' worth of curriculum packed in, it will be appropriate for kids to use over several grades.
