Type: Math
Price: $19.95 US

Description:

Shades, a chameleon, and a jitterbug called "JB" introduce children to numbers in a fun and easy way in Numbers Workshop by Vtech Soft. There are seven colorful activities, and parents can set the difficulty level for each child or set it for "auto" so that Shades and JB can demonstrate the activity.

Features:

  • Friendly, fun characters.
  • Focus on numbers 0 through 20.
  • Innovative games such as Hide and Seek.
  • Music and number stories.

Technical Aspects:

There were no problems with installation or run-time. The characters are done in a bright cartoon style that will appeal to kids. There are some clickables, but not an overwhelming number.

Report and Conclusions:

My 3 year old son enjoyed the stories on this program the most. They're quite short, but cute. The weakest part of this title is the sing-a-long, for two reasons: 1) there's only one song and 2) when you click on the numbers 0 through 20, a screen shows the number and tells its name, then an animation plays which has NOTHING to do with the number. My son also enjoyed the Counting Room Game, toys need to be counted and matched to the description that's presented.
