Description:

Millie & Bailey's Preschool includes updated activities from Millie's Math House and Bailey's Book House. There are a total of 8 activities covering the basics of reading and math. You'll find number quantities, geometric shapes, sizes, problem solving, letters and sounds, and rhyming words. Kids will be able to print cards or posters in black and white (NOT in color, to encourage their work with hands-on art) write a wacky story and even print it out!

Features:

  • Twenty one activities in eight locations.
  • Enhances language development, early math, thinking skills, social skills.
  • Multiple difficulty levels will adjust automatically or may be set by parents.
  • Children choose between using a guide and free play.

Technical Aspects:

Millie & Bailey's Preschool installed very quickly and ran smoothly, however, it ran a bit slowly on our Pentium 100 with 24 megs of RAM! Also, the program "freezes" the mouse while loading from activity to activity - with my kids, that may be a good thing! The graphics are large, with bright colors, done quite simply. All the animations and sounds ran smoothly for us, as well. The box is an excellent representation of the product inside it, as always, Edmark includes information to help parents make sure their kids get the most out of the title.

Reports and Conclusions:

One of the things that's really great about Millie & Bailey's Preschool is that it enables kids ages 3 to 5 to print their own cards and thank-you notes. It prints only the message, and the kids can customize the card with their original artwork (crayola and markers) or stickers or whatever they want! Also, there's a storybuilder game that's loads of fun, and kids can print their stories out as well.

My two preschoolers are very excited - the 3 year old is impressed by the Big/Medium/Small game, where you match shoes to the correct goony character. The 4 year old is making plans to send cards to everyone she ever met! It's good when software enables kids and fires their imaginations - and this title manages to do both.
