Description:

Madeline Classroom Companion, 1st & 2nd Grade is a 2 CD-ROM set covering two complete years of learning. Each CD contains three skill levels, and there's a total of over 50 activities. First grade activities include reading, math, counting money, grammar, and geography. Second grade examines reading, writing, spelling, and science. Multiplication is introduced, and French and Spanish vocabulary words are introduced.

Technical Aspects:

Madeline Classroom Companion installed quickly and ran with no problems. The graphics are true to the Madeline cartoon and illustrations in the storybooks. Animations ran smoothly, and we didn't have any problems with audio choppiness, either.

Reports and Conclusions:

Madeline is much loved by kids, and this program, designed for kids ages 6 to 8, will teach kids skills they need while they have fun with Madeline. The activities themselves will be familiar from the K-1 titles, but each is more advanced. And while the content here is solid, kids aren't pressured to perform or hurry through the activities.
