Madeline Classroom Companion - Preschool & Kindergarten contains two full years of learning designed by educators for a complete preschool and kindergarten curriculum. Each CD-ROM (there are 2 CD's) has three skill levels and the total is over 50 activities. On Disk 1 (Preschool) Madeline visits the bakery, zoo, stationery store, an art gallery and playroom - each with activities to help kids learn the skills they'll need. Disk 2 addresses kindergarten basics such as simple spelling, French, Spanish and English matching games, and pattern recognition skills. Each of the programs includes print out activities for work away from the computer, with stickers and postcards available. They both also include Madeline songs and videos in the Magic Theatre.

My 4 year old daughter loves Madeline and couldn't wait to get started! I expect she'll take about two days to complete the Preschool curriculum, and about a week on the Kindergarten CD-ROM. Then we can bring on Madeline's Contract Law because at this very moment, she's drawing up a "contract" a few feet away! I've been surprised at her interest in the French and Spanish areas of the title, she patiently works through them, repeating the words. There's a great deal of information contained here, and kids aren't pressured to "work" - they complete the tasks at their own rate. While this title is obviously targeted towards girls, I wouldn't hesitate to let my son play with it as well. He enjoys the cartoons, and would be able to learn from this program too!
