Description:

Speak German is an interactive method of teaching the user how to speak German. There are 18 different locations including a hotel, post office, etc. that you can visit to learn the German counterpart of the English words. Words and phrases are available in both spoken and written format and you can also record your own voice to check your pronunciation against the native speaker's. There are also exams that the user can take to test his or her knowledge.

Technical Aspects:

This program installed easily and ran without any problems. The graphics are pretty basic but clear and the instructions are easy to understand.

Report and Conclusions:

This program seems geared more toward the tourist or visitor to Germany who will need a practical vocabulary of phrases like "How much does that cost?" and "I need a double room, please" to help them get around, rather than a serious student of German. However, this is a good introduction of German for the casual student and is affordable, too.
