Description:

Zen Master Koala Lumpur has uttered an incantation which could bring about the Comedy Apocalypse. To avoid this, he must find the missing pieces of the Lost Scroll of Cartoon Prophesies. You, Fly (the cursor actually IS a fly in this game) can help - in fact, you'll do all the work. See, Fly is Koala Lumpur's spiritual guide familiar. Koala Lumpur flies around with you on his magic carpet and utters pearls of "wisdom" at every pause. There's also the brilliant Dr. Dingo Tu Far, who has managed to lock himself up. After you spend some time around him, you may decide to leave him locked up!

Features

  • Search for Dr. Dingo - but don't forget to turn on the electricity!
  • Land of Lost Things - Pick up useful items here.
  • Pipe Maze - you'll have to navigate it successfully to get to Junk City.
  • Get inside Dingo's brain.
  • Stream of Consciousness - help Dingo sort out his emotional life.
  • Eye in the Sky - Get away from Annie Body's.

Reactions

Koala Lumpur Journey to the Edge is a "comic adventure" targeted towards teens. Because of its language content and mild sexual connotations, some parents may not want their children to play it. It's almost as if the writers and designers tried to walk a line - offensive enough that teens will be attracted to it, but not so raunchy that parents won't allow it. If it were rated like movies, it'd carry a PG-13. The "edge" claimed by this title doesn't overshadow the fun of the game. It's quite carefully designed, packs in many puzzles and even though the producers claim they were under the influence of "brain fever," someone at Broderbund or Colossal recovered enough to get a nicely polished product to market.
