Description:

Jump Start Preschool takes up where Jump Start Toddlers leaves off. The two disc set consists of Jump Start PreSchool and Jump Start Pre-K (which can be bought separately) and a colorful workbook to use in conjunction with the titles. JumpStart uses Adaptive Learning Technology which monitors the child's success and automatically adjusts the difficulty level, or the levels can be changed from each activity as it's being played. Also helpful is the Progress Report, which can be printed out to show detailed information of your child's participation and attempts at activities, as well as the percentage of successful attempts.

Jump Start PreSchool

introduces an interactive classroom filled with helpful friends. Each object contains an interactive, animated game, puzzle or song. Here's what you'll find:
  • The Numbers, Alphabet Thing, ABC, Wheel on the Bus, Nursery Rhymes, JumpStart Preschool, Days of the Week, Seasons, Rock Around the Clock and Shapes songs.
  • Dot-to-Dot Game
  • Jigsaw Puzzle
  • Turtle Bowl - a numbers matching game.
  • Paint by numbers, shapes and colors,
  • Flash Cards to teach and letter sounds,
  • Hide and Seek game,
  • Play What's in the Window Game,
  • Clean up and create a Trash Monster,
  • Play the What's Different game.

JumpStart Pre-K

It took my 4 year old about 3 sessions to roar through Disc 1, so we moved her over to Disc 2 - JumpStart Pre-K. This title begins outside the town and offers the following songs and activities:
  • Counting practice at the Carousel
  • Songs: Exercise is Good for You, Think Safe, Be Safe, Families, Eat a Healthy Meal, Sharing is a Good Thing, and Thank You and Please.
  • Letter learning at the Bakery.
  • Shapes, colors and letters at the Airport.
  • Matching and music at the Barber Shop
  • Sorting and counting at the Construction Site.
  • Recognizing matcing shapes at the Toy Shop.
  • Sort objects at the Diner.
  • Learn the ABC's at the Clothing Store
  • Learn letters and rhyming at the Fire Station
  • Animate your very own Park with reward stamps.

Reactions

Our 3 year old is now playing with the Preschool (disc 1) and the 4 year old is working with disc 2 (Pre-Kindergarten.) Each of them is enjoying their "work" and having fun while they learn. This title is what really good edutainment is all about, giving children the skills they need in a way that increases confidence in their own learning abilities.
