Description:

Imaginator is a program that allows the children to create multimedia stories, movies and slide show presentations by adding text, sound and graphics/photos. The program comes with its own paint program to edit graphics. Also allows you to add your own photos to your project. There are quite a few graphics available with the program but having the ability to import graphics/photos makes this program more appealing (must use .bmp extention). The children can also record their own voice to personalize their story. The children become producers, directors and the star of their own creations.

Features:

  • Create your own stories, slide show or movie.
  • View your creations on screen.
  • Print out finished product.
  • Edit graphics right in the program.

Technical Aspects:

Loaded easily with Windows 95 and ran fine on both of my systems, P200 with 32 megs of RAM and 486-33 with 8 megs of Ram. Does not come with any fancy packaging - this allows the company to keep the price down. The CD case is brightly colored to help attract potential consumers.

Report and Conclusions:

Imaginator was a big hit with my students, even though they are preschoolers and the program was rated 8-12 years of age. With some adult supervison and depending on your child's computer skills, the preschoolers can use the program with ease. My five-year old was quite capable of using the program unsupervised after one lesson.
