Description:

His Name Was Lincoln is a 2-volume CD-ROM written by distinguished Lincoln biographer James M. McPherson. The title provides a survey of the people, the places and the events that comprised Lincoln's world. A User's Guide and Teacher's Guides are included with the program.

Notes:

The computer used for the review is not quite up to the requirements, however, the program ran with no problems. The video sequences and audio files ran quite smoothly. His Name Was Lincoln would tie in nicely with the PBS American Civil War video series, which also feature Mr. McPherson's insights. Also, there is a great dept of information about Lincoln and his place in history. The variety of information holds the child's interest throughout, and presents the information in several formats to accommodate various learning styles.

Features:

Gives fascinating insights into the life of Lincoln. Reminds us that he is a true hero and helps inspire students' interest in history. The User's Guide and Teacher's Guides are excellent and offer supportive activities from traditional worksheets to Internet links.
