The Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia was my family's first multimedia experience, a few years ago. It's been much used and enjoyed, but we never had updated it, until now. Well, we've been victims of sticker shock when car buying, but at this time, we're dealing with update shock. Grolier has packaged an overwhelming amount of information into this one CD product, while maintaining a reasonable price. The folks at Grolier's also made sure the interface remained simple and added in a few features such as links to World Wide Web sites on the Internet, Grolier's Atlas, offering historical maps and the ability to run your favorite word processor from within the encyclopedia, cut and paste quotations and pictures!

Notes:

The 1997 Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia will not install to a removable disk. It requires 10 Megs of hard disk space. This title is very easy to navigate, provides a great resource for research and gives people a chance to explore the world.

Internet links, over 50,000 articles, Grolier's Atlas, tours of topics such as Weapons of Combat and Romanticism, investigate interactivities including "Inside the Human Body" and "Natural Habitats," watch movies, animations and dynamic maps, and hear over 15 hours of music and sounds.
