Description:

Danny and the Dinosaur is based on the book by Syd Hoff. Unfortunately, this title does not have a story or storybook mode. What it does have is five edutainment games with three levels of difficulty for children ages 3 to 6. The games are matching games, word games and spelling games, all with Danny and his large friend. The box is a very clear representation of the product, down to the colors used on the computer screens.

Features:

  • Downtown Fun - match words to objects in various stores.
  • Toot Toot - match the first letter of the object.
  • Hide & Seek - finding and in other levels, matching objects and words.
  • Play Ball - When you find the correct first letter, the batter hits!
  • Zany Zoo - feed and frolic with the animals.

Reactions:

My 3 and 4 year old have enjoyed playing with Danny but tend to click the hardest activity, get in over their heads, become bored and quit. I've explained it to them on a number of occasions but they both do this over and over! Programs that give parents the options of changing difficulty levels, or better yet, change automatically as the child is ready, eliminate this problem. Still, Danny and the Dinosaur is one of our favorite books and the kids ask to play with the program quite often.
