And all the parents groaned because there was yet another Barbie program. I know, because I groaned along with you. The problem is that my daughters love Barbie and are thrilled with the new Cool Looks Fashion Designer. The fact is that this program is improved over the original Barbie Fashion Designer. Girls will enjoy designing outfits, complete with Barbie accessories - just make sure you have an ink jet or laser printer because the printer fabric will NOT work with dot matrix printers.

Technical Aspects:

The only problem I found was in convincing my 5 year old that she HAS to put away the Barbie shoes that came along with the package. I think she wanted to keep them out to use for inspiration! There were no problems with installation or during run-time with this title.

Report and Conclusions:

The interface on this version is much easier to maneuver - it's an important improvement. Girls can choose which of Barbie's friends to make clothing for. Kids can take pictures with the on-screen camera and print them out, share fashion outfits on disc or by email and even make "My-Size" accessories - a coin purse or mini bag. My 5 year old daughter loves this! Whether you love or hate The Blonde One, the program does what it says it will. The box screenshots are quick steps for getting started, and the User Guide that's included is excellent.
