Description:

Arthur's Reading Race is the third interactive storybook starring Arthur from the popular series of books by Marc Brown (and also the PBS cartoon series.) In this story, Arthur challenges his younger sister, D.W., to read ten words - and offers to buy her an ice cream cone if she succeeds. Arthur finds out that his sister reads quite a lot more than he thought!

Features:

  • Three edutainment games.
  • Lots of hotspot animations and clickables.
  • Familiar Arthur and D.W. characters.
  • Develops reading skills.

Technical Aspects:

No problems here! The graphics are much the same as the two prior Arthur titles. There are funny sound effects and lots of surprises around.

Report and Conclusions:

Arthur's Reading Race is designed for kids aged 3 to 7 years. The three games included are "I Spy," - with three levels that has kids matching words to objects, "Reading Race," a board game that involves matching words to pictures (and also has 3 levels of difficulty.) and "Let Me Write!," an activity that allows kids to drag pictures of items to the paper tablet to make sentences.

We've enjoyed Arthur's Reading Race, despite the shock of my life when reading some Living Books paperwork and finding out that Arthur is an aardvark! Who'da thunk it? We all thought he was some kind of gopher or teddy bear. But as always, Arthur is cute, and this title introduces his puppy, Pal, who will be popular with your kids too.
