May 1998Edmark will have an "electrifying" new title at E3 entitled ZAP!, a "hands-on, discovery-based learning program on the physical science topics of light, sound, and electricity." Kids will be able to interact with electricity, sound waves, and lasers in a fun environment that encourages exploration and experimentation.
Another new title from Edmark that will be at E3 is KidDesk Internet Safe, a personal desktop for kids that is also an Internet security tool. Parents will be able to select which web sites they want their kids to access, which will allow the parents to decide what is appropriate for their own family.
VtechSoft will be showcasing their new line of products in Atlanta next week at E3, along with an in-house demonstration of "Zoo-phonics" by local children from Atlanta. The kids will "demonstrate this revolutionary learn-to-read-and-spell program along with the VTechSoft Read and Spell with Zoo-phonics CD-ROM." Read and Spell with Zoo-phonics will be available at the end of summer, price unknown.
Another new series from VtechSoft is Virtual Vtech, a line of 3 CD-ROM's based on products from Vtech. The three titles are Galatic Whiz Kid ages 9-up, Little Smart Playhouse ages 3-6, and Smart Start Adventure ages 6-8. These CD-ROM's are based on Talking Whiz Kid, Little Smart, and Smart Start, respectively. The Un-Encyclopedia Knowledge Adventure series by VtechSoft consists of 6 titles that introduces kids to inventions, communication, history, earth science, space and flight. Both Virtual Vtech and Un-Encyclopedia will be at E3. The Un-Encyclopedia series is available now for $29.99 each.
Lost in Space Animated Learning Adventure from Sound Source Interactive is going to be introduced, along with Land Before Time Kindergarten Adventure, at E3. Lost in Space Animated Learning Adventure will teach kids ages 7-11 principles of geology, astronomy, and scientific study through many activities and games. Land Before Time Kindergarten Adventure is comprised of 8 activities: Musical Shapes, Prehistoric Pinball, Jungle Jam, Going Home, Adventure Stories, Sharptooth Gulch, Creature Crafts, and Living Valley. These can either be played in an Adventure mode, or an Activity Mode that allows replay of activities.
