This is a simple yet very fun way to make pictures - but it does make a sandy mess, and is best done outside!
Materials Needed:
Construction paper
Sand
Glue
Dropcloth or large sheet of newspaper
What to Do:
Take your paper and draw a picture using the glue. Do not apply the glue too heavily. Put your picture in the center of a piece of newspaper. Then sprinkle sand all over the paper until the glue is completely covered.
Lift your picture, and dump the extra sand onto the newspaper. That sand can be used again for another picture.
Variations:
Paint a background for your sand painting - maybe a sky, rainbow colors or sunset with watercolors and let the paper dry thoroughly before drawing with the glue.Use colored sand and apply one color at a time.
