This software was created with children in mind. The program is specifically created for kindergarten through second graders; those who are working on reading skills. It not only offers reading and matching exercises throughout the basic game, but each room of the house has a "hidden" activity that helps underline reading disciplines:

• in one room, children play "dress up" and learn clothing names
• in another room, children follow a recipe to create a new treat
• another room offers a book that keeps stealing letters from a story
• in other rooms, there is opportunity to match tools, fold laundry, and try out interesting pets
• and other rooms offer fun sounds, games and other spelling feats!

The basic "game" as you enter the house is to go from room to room using the "map" provided on the main page. Try to find objects that BEGIN with the letters on your "list" found with the map. You will only be able to take one object back with you from any room, and once you make a letter match, that room will be "locked." (This feature can be turned off if you wish, by clicking "off" the button "Use room covers" below the house map.) You have to find ONE object for each letter to complete the game, and there are literally HUNDREDS of objects all over the house!! If you wish to remove a word you found, click on that word in your list and it will be removed (and if you are playing with room covers, the room will be unlocked so you can go back and find other options.) You may want to "explore" before you begin, so you have a feel for where things are.

There are fun side tracks all through the house. Check doors, cupboards and piles of things, you never know what you'll find! But most of all, have fun!!
