BabyTime allows the child to type (or pound) on the keyboard while displaying random shapes and pictures on the screen, and playing random sounds. This program has many options about speed, what displays, colors, sound, hide the desktop, hide the menubar - and allows the child to scribble on the screen by using the mouse. Another thing that distinguishes BabyTime is that pictures can be displayed, not just shapes or letters.

BabyTime also allows you to install your favorite sounds, pictures, color icons and patterns into the game. It uses resources of types 'PICT', 'snd ', 'cicn' and 'ppat'. To do this, open the "Resources" file with ResEdit, a free resource-editing tool from Apple. Open up the file containg the resources you would like to use and simply copy and paste them into "Resources". (I (Grace Sylvan) have used Resedit for such simple tasks, it's pretty straighforward. Just always work on a COPY of the original).
