Noncommercial redistributions of a verbatim copy in any medium physical or electronic are permitted without express permission of the author. Translations are similarly permitted without express permission if they includes a notice on who translated it.

Commercial redistribution is allowed and encouraged, provided that the author is notified of any such distributions and given opportunity to to provide a more up-to-date version.

Short quotes may be used without prior consent by the author. Derivative work and partial distributions of the SCSI-HOWTO must include either a verbatim copy of this file or make a verbatim copy of this file available. If the latter is the case, a pointer to the verbatim copy must be stated at a clearly visible place.

In short, we wish to promote dissemination of this information through as many channels as possible. However, we do wish to retain copyright on the HOWTO documents, to be notified of any plans to redistribute the HOWTOs to insure that outdated versions don't spread too far, and for ALL the information provided in the HOWTOS to be disseminated. If you have questions on the Linux documentation project, please contact Matt Welsh, the Linux HOWTO coordinator, at mdw@sunsite.unc.edu. Questions regarding this document itself should be addressed to Drew Eckhardt, drew@Colorado.EDU.
