The MS degree requirement

The degree requirement at the graduate MS level are 2 year curricula, which means 3
semesters x 14 weeks x 6 hours = 252 hours plus one semester minimum for the Master thesis. The EE School offers the following curricula:
Each curriculum contains 6 courses which are elected from a given group depending on
the student's interest. After completing the whole curriculum, the student is required to submit a written Master thesis, which is evaluated by the appointed board and if accepted orally presented. Upon successful thesis presentation, a student is entitled to the degree. The degree awarded is Master of Technical Sciences - area of Electrical Engineering. On the average around 50 MS degrees are awarded each year.

Enrollment in the MS program

The MS graduate studies are directly opened to all Electrical engineers having the
average grade on the graduate level above 8. If the student has the average grade less than 8 he or she is required to pass two additional exams. In addition certain curricula are also open for students having degree in some other area of engineering or mathematics, providing that they pass three additional exams.
By the end of each academic year the open competition for a given number of students
in the first year of graduate studies is announced. Typically the EE School enrolls around 200 students. The number of foreign students is not limited.
The applicant is requested to submit the degree certificate together with the exams
record, short curriculum vitae and list of references. If the number of applications is greater than the number of available places the applicants are ranked by the average grade.
All the students enrolled in the MS program are considered to be part-time students
so that the lectures are organized during the evening. During the work on the thesis the student is entitled to an advisor.

Foreign citizens

With the application for the enrollment in the first year of MS graduate studies the
foreign citizens are required to submit:
Foreign citizens can complete their studies either in Serbian or in English language.

Ph.D. Program

The School offers the Ph.D. degree in Engineering sciences. However, there are no
organized curricula for the Ph.D. degree. The only requirement is a written Ph.D. thesis in which the candidate presents an original theoretical result which presents a serious scientific contribution to a certain area.
In order to start working toward the Ph.D. degree the candidate has to propose the
subject which is then evaluated by the appointed board. If the proposition is accepted the board will appoint an advisor.
On average, 10 to 15 candidates are awarded annually this highest academic degree.
