The degree requirement
- The degree requirement at the undergraduate studies are 5 years
curricula, which
- means 9 semester x 14 weeks x 27 hours
(approximately) =3444 hours plus one semester (14 weeks) for the
written thesis.
The undergraduate studies are organized in four basic divisions:
- Power engineering
- Electronics, telecommunications and control
- Computer engineering and computer science
- Physical electronics
- Together they offer 9 different curricula each of them containing 38 to
41 exams. The
- difference in the number of exams is caused by the
different course duration (one or two semesters).
- The passing grades on the exam are from 6 to 10, 10 being the highest
possible grade.
- After completing the whole curricula, the student is required to
submit a written
- Diploma thesis, which is later orally presented. Upon
successful thesis presentation, a student is entitled to the degree. The
degree awarded is Diplomirani in`enjer (Dipl. Ing.) in electrical
engineering.
- The average number of graduating students is between 300 and 350
per year.
Enrollment
- The academic year starts at the beginning of October and ends on the
30-th of
- September.
- At the beginning of May an open competition for the enrollment of a
given number of
- students in the first year of undergraduate studies is
announced. Typically, the School enrolls around 120 students in the
Power engineering division and 330 students in other divisions. The
number of foreign students is not limited.
- The submission of applications for the enrollment as well as he
classifying exams
- occurs at the end of June.
- The applicant is requested to submit the diploma and the certificates of
the last four
- years of secondary education. For each year an average
grade is calculated on the scale 1 to 5 so that the maximum number
of points which can be obtained equals 20. In addition the applicant
is required to take two exams in Mathematics and Physics which are
graded on the scale 0 to 18 and 0 to 12, respectively. The total
number of points based on the secondary education as well as on the
exams determines the applicant's rank. The applicant can be enrolled in the
first year if his rank falls within the number of available places.
Foreign citizens
- With the application for the enrollment in the first year the
applicant is required to
- submit:
- - decision on the validation of the diploma
- - the original of the diploma and the certificates of secondary
education together with their verified translation.
- - birth certificate (original and translation)
- - documents confirming that he or she has health insurance for the
year they are enrolling
- - certificate of the authorized organization that the applicant has a
good mastery in Serbian language.
- Regardless of the fact that the number of foreign students might not be
limited,
- foreign citizens are required to take the entrance exams.
Curricula
- The basic organization of the undergraduate studies together with the
complete
- curricula are enclosed at the appendix. The first year
courses are identical for all divisions, while the second year courses
on the Power engineering division differ from those on the remaining
divisions. Upon completing the second year the students in the
general curriculum enroll into one of the three divisions. Since the
number of available places at each division is limited the actual
enrollment depends on the student preferences as well as on the
success during the first two years. After the third year the student has
a free choice of the one of the offered curricula at his or hers
division.
- The underlying idea in all curricula was to provide the strong basic
theoretical
- knowledge within the first two years. Fundamentals of the
professional subjects relevant for the particular division are studied in
the third year, while within the last two years the student is
specializing in the chosen area. Several elective courses provide
the possibility to go deeper into the particular subject (through the
selected topics type courses) or to broaden the knowledge in some
different area (through the courses from other divisions)
