Inside one box is an exceptional non-linear editor. The Video Toaster tapeless editor uses NewTek's custom video compression system called VTASC. NewTek engineered VTASC from the ground up to put true broadcast-quality video on a hard drive. This on-line editor replaces three $50,000 video decks, performs a wide variety of video effects and digitally mixes 8 tracks of CD quality audio with its audio DSP system.

Inside the Video Toaster you'll also find built-in time base correction with proc amp controls, three digital still stores, a four input production switcher, character generator, 3D animation sustem, video processor, luminance keyer, SMPTE time code reader/generator and single frame animation recorder . . . perfect.

  At the heart of the Video Toaster is the 4-Input video switcher. Not just any switcher, it features over 300 video effects and transitions, many you can't find anywhere else. From traditional Grass Valley switcher emulation to cutting edge digital effects, the Toaster delivers.

• Digital video effects
  The toaster switcher includes flips, tumbles, pulls and spins that you'd expect to find in more expensive systems, plus digital video effects you've never seen before at any price. The Switcher also features smooth fades, standard wipes, transparent cast shadows, synchronized sound effects, positionable windows, and one hundred color process effects.

• Character Generator
  Point, Click, Drag, Drop. It's that easy to create stunning titles with the Video ToasterCG. It has all the good stuff: Scrolls, Crawls, Graphics, Gradient Blends, Variable transparency and font scaling from 10-400 lines high. Now that's full-screen. And forget about paying exorbitant prices for additional typestyles. The Video Toaster gives you over 273 PostScript fonts to choose from. A host of outside developers enables you to take your pick of thousands of extra symbols, graphics and fonts including foreign languages.

• Luminance Keyer
  The Toaster's luminance keyer allows your to superimpose an actor in front of a background, or fly text over video. You can overlay graphics or video on any input source, and use the Toaster to dissolve them on and off the screen as part of the Switcher, the luminance keyer adds flair to your message.
