Integrated Pest Management

(IPM) assures gains in agricultural productiviy and protects natural resouces, while emphasising environmental sustainability and human resouce development. IPM techniques frequently reduce the use of polluting substances, maintaining pest populations at an acceptible level and encouraging natural regulating mechanisms. "IPM Working" tries to cover as broad a spectrum of IPM ideas as possible. It should be stressed that the opions voiced are those of the author concerned and not those of the IPMWG. We welcome contributions from readers from all countries, and to advance our interactive role, encourage responses and suggestions to both the articles published, and the newsletter itself.
