This version contains on-line help to answer the vast majority, if not all, of your questions. Simply press F1 from the main menu screen for more help than you'll ever really want. Installation Procedure ---------------------- Since you're reading this file, that's a good sign that you've figured out how to unzip the DynaMine software package. In that case, you're ready to play! Just type 'dmine' from the DOS prompt to start the game. If you would prefer to run the game from Windows 3.1 or Win95, you can follow one of the procedures below to add the DynaMine icon to your desktop. Adding DynaMine to Your Windows 3.1 Desktop ------------------------------------------- 1) Once you're in Windows, highlight the program group (e.g., Main, Accessories, Games, etc.) to which you would like to add DynaMine. Then select "File" from the Program Manager's menu bar, and choose "New" from the options available. 2) Select "Program Item" and click OK. 3) For the description, enter "DynaMine 3.1". For the command line, enter the installation directory followed by "\dmine.exe". For example, if you installed DynaMine into the directory "c:\dynamine", you would enter "c:\dynamine\dmine.exe" for the command line. For the working directory, enter the installation directory. For example, if you installed DynaMine into the directory "c:\dynamine", you would enter "c:\dynamine" for the working directory. 4) Click on "Change Icon". For the file name, enter the installation directory followed by "\dmine.ico". For example, if you installed DynaMine into the directory "c:\dynamine", you would enter "c:\dynamine\dmine.ico" for the file name. Select the DynaMine icon and click OK. 5) Click OK to finish creating the program item. Now you can double-click on the DynaMine icon to start playing! Adding DynaMine to Your Win95 Desktop ------------------------------------- 1) Once you're in Win95, click on "Start", select "Settings", and choose "Taskbar" from the options available. 2) Click on the "Start Menu Programs" tab, and click the "Advanced" button. 3) On the left-hand side of the Explorer window, highlight the folder into which you would like to place DynaMine. 4) Select "File" from the menu bar, choose "New", and then choose "Shortcut" from the options available. 5) For the command line, enter the installation directory followed by "\dmine.exe". For example, if you installed DynaMine into the directory "c:\dynamine", you would enter "c:\dynamine\dmine.exe" for the command line. Click the "Next" button. For the shortcut name, enter "DynaMine 3.1". Click the "Finish" button. Now you can select the DynaMine icon to start playing! DynaMine will run fine under Windows 3.1 or Win95 on most computers, and it will continue to let other tasks execute in the background. If you are having any sort of trouble running DynaMine under Windows, you may want to try running it under DOS to see if the problem disappears.
