Exclude Triangles from a Patch Object

When creating a Patch object, Photo4D does not know the real boundary of the patch. Therefore, Photo4D always assumes it is a convex patch. For this reason, extra triangles may included in the patch when its boundary is not convex. The unwanted triangles can be easily found in the Preview Window.

The Patch object provides a way to exclude any un-wanted triangles from its triangle mesh:

  1. Click the the "Exclude triangles" radiobutton. All the selected points become unselected.
  2. In the working image, select the points that are vertices of the unwanted triangles. In other words, a triangle will be deleted from the patch if all of its three vertices are in the excluded in the point list.
You may also use the excluded triangle feature to cut holes in a patch. The process is exactly the same as described above.
