Rescue Disk is preventative maintenance for your computer by creating a rescue disk, the likelihood of recovering from a system failure is greatly increased.

A rescue disk (or rescue disk set) is important to you and your computer. Rescue disks contain the data and files necessary to start your computer if it doesn't start on its own. They also contain DOS-based Norton and Microsoft programs. If your disk is damaged or contains files that need to be recovered, you can use the programs on your rescue disk to fix the problems and recover the files.

Creating a rescue disk should be part of your computer's routine maintenance. If you don't want to be bothered with a maintenance schedule, use Norton System Doctor to automatically monitor the intervals between rescue disk updates.
