DATE2000 Fix
DATE2000 can be used in conjunction with TEST2000
(information about this product may be viewed elsewhere on
this site).
The fix is loaded in the normal manner for software using a
simple and straightforward set-up program and is then invoked
from the AUTOEXEC.BAT. Whenever the PC boots, two messages are
displayed to confirm that the DATE2000 software is running:
first DATE2000.EXE introduces itself and shows the status of
the internal date, and then TSR2000.COM announces that it has
been installed.
This software checks the hardware date at the earliest
possible level, ensuring that the date gets changed before it
can be picked up by any processes, and the date change is
permanent. Most importantly, changes are made directly to the
root of the problemùthe CMOS RTC as well as the BIOS.
DATE2000.EXE is a non-memory resident program that checks
and, if necessary, corrects the internal date at boot time.
TSR2000.COM is a memory-resident program that takes just
over 330 bytes in RAM, and adds very little overhead to the
PC. This software will correct the date as the PC is running
and passes across to Year 2000.
For those with networks, we offer DATE2000 NetPro to test
and fix all workstations on a common network. Full details are
recorded, and control remains at all times with the network
manager/administrator.
