DATE2000 Fix

SchoolHouse Computers Limited developed the DATE2000 range of millennium-compliancy tools in 1996 with the express intention of assisting individuals and organisations in combating the potential millennium time bomb. We believe that these products are amongst the very few that will fix BOTH the BIOS and CMOS RTC (Real Time Clock) for most PCs, making the hardware Y2K compliant.

The products have received independent, national computer media acclaim and have been installed successfully worldwide. We believe that this is the best available in the range of products for this particular problem; they are already in wide use internationally. We encourage active dialogue with all our customers to ensure these products have an on-going cycle of continuous developmentùwhen free upgrades are released they are available to all existing customers by request.

Developed by a team of IT professionals with many years of experience in the industry, the product is simple to use and install.

We offer distribution worldwide with outlets in the USA (East and West), Canada, Middle East, Australia, Ireland and across the UK. We can put you in direct contact with the nearest supplier.

DATE2000 Fix

DATE2000 can be used in conjunction with TEST2000 (information about this product may be viewed elsewhere on this site).

The fix is loaded in the normal manner for software using a simple and straightforward set-up program and is then invoked from the AUTOEXEC.BAT. Whenever the PC boots, two messages are displayed to confirm that the DATE2000 software is running: first DATE2000.EXE introduces itself and shows the status of the internal date, and then TSR2000.COM announces that it has been installed.

This software checks the hardware date at the earliest possible level, ensuring that the date gets changed before it can be picked up by any processes, and the date change is permanent. Most importantly, changes are made directly to the root of the problemùthe CMOS RTC as well as the BIOS.

DATE2000.EXE is a non-memory resident program that checks and, if necessary, corrects the internal date at boot time.

TSR2000.COM is a memory-resident program that takes just over 330 bytes in RAM, and adds very little overhead to the PC. This software will correct the date as the PC is running and passes across to Year 2000.

For those with networks, we offer DATE2000 NetPro to test and fix all workstations on a common network. Full details are recorded, and control remains at all times with the network manager/administrator.
