Year 2000 Data Analyzer for databases and spreadsheets.

Datefind-db is an easy to use program which searches PC, midrange and mainframe databases, spreadsheets and other file types, identifying any data that appears to contain dates which are NOT Year 2000 Ready.  The Year 2000 Readiness is determined by a set of user-defined and/or predefined search criteria. Whether employed by an individual PC user or a major corporation, Datefind-db is useful throughout the Year 2000 compliance process, from initial impact analysis through ongoing and final compliance verification and beyond. Datefind-db can also be used to search for other (non-date) values.

Datefind-db supports wizard, advanced and unattended execution modes. The Wizards guide the user through all set-up and execution steps, accompanied by explanatory text and notes. Wizards can be used for initial tutorial sessions or for end users uncomfortable with technology or unfamiliar with the tool.  In Advanced mode, Datefind-db provides the user with more rapid access to the search definition facilities. Full Windows context-sensitive help is provided throughout.

Datefind-db allows the user to create, store and recall multiple sets of search criteria as search Templates. A sample database is shipped with the product and can be used for tutorial purposes. Templates include user selections for:

Databases and spreadsheets to check
Predefined date formats to check
Additional user defined values to check
Further inclusion / exclusion criteria

In addition to the above predefined date formats, Datefind-db supports the entry of user-defined date formats, catering to system and client-specific needs. Examples might include 090999, often used in legacy systems to indicate end of file and 999999, frequently used to indicate infinity.
