The YIIK-RTC is first activated as part of the boot process of
the PC, and immediately programs the motherboard real-time clock
with the correct time and date which is stored in the YIIK-RTC's own
real time clock.
Once an operating system is loaded, the YIIK-RTC automatically
redirects any BIOS call made to the YIIK-RTC, rather than to the
system real time clock. Further, when the system enters any software
environment, the YIIK-RTC ensures that no application or operating
system can read the incorrect time from the motherboard real time
clock.
