2000TOOLS Scan +

The extent of the problems that may occur if a computer's clocks fail to recognize the Year 2000 is hard to quantify. Predictions range from the relatively minor to the apocalyptic. But, if organizations fail to address the Millennium bug, products and services that rely on computers to function efficiently will undoubtedly be at risk. 2000TOOLS Scan + will test and, if possible, fix the three clocks that reside in the computer chips on your PC.

The vast majority (about 98%) of PCs have an RTC that only stores the date's last two digits (i.e. the year) and has a separate fixed value for the century. That value is set at 19 for the current century. When the century changes, this value will remain at 19. If the BIOS, Operating Systems, and any programs that use the RTC to get the date do not allow for this, they will give false information in the 21st century, wreaking havoc in many different ways. Scan + will test the RTC, the BIOS clock and the System clock to see if they will not only roll over, but also whether the computer will recognize that the Year 2000 is a leap year.

2000TOOLS Group, Inc. was founded in 1996 to provide corporations and consumers with professional Year 2000 software solutions, audit processes, project management and legal service support. 2000TOOLS has offices in the following locations: Buenos Aires, Coral Springs, Milwaukee, London, San Juan, Washington D.C, and affiliate offices in Australia and Mexico.
