STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Outlook 98. This
problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 97 Service Release 2.
MORE INFORMATION
Messages sent after the year 2000 and imported from the cc:Mail Post Office
in a Folder or a Bulletin Board will show an incorrect date after the
import. Messages sent or received by Outlook through a cc:Mail server,
during any operation other than a Folder import or a Bulletin Board import,
will show the correct date.
The new version of the cc:Mail support files contained in ccmailsp.exe
(ccmailNT.exe for NT 3.51) corrects this problem.
Outlook imports messages from a cc:Mail Post Office using a utility called
Export.exe. Export.exe outputs an ASCII file containing all exported
messages, including a two-digit year for each message. Previously, Outlook
interpreted the dates as 19xx, where xx represents the two-digit year in
the Export.exe output file. Currently, if xx is less than 70, the year is
imported as 2000 + the year. Otherwise, the year is imported as 1900 + the
year. This means Outlook supports cc:Mail import dates up to the year 2069.
cc:Mail is manufactured by Lotus, a vendor independent of Microsoft; we
make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's
performance or reliability.
