XADM: CR/LF Characters Missing from End of Internet Text Body Parts


The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Exchange Server, versions 5.0, 5.5


SYMPTOMS

An internet message is received and a text body part (or text attachment) is missing a final carriage-return (CR) line-feed (LF) combination. This may cause the message body part to be displayed incorrectly.


CAUSE

A logic error was preventing a final CR/LF sequence from being written to the end of the text body parts.


STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.0.

A supported fix is now available, but has not been fully regression- tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem. Unless you are severely impacted by this specific problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Service Pack that contains this fix. Contact Microsoft Technical Support for more information.

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5. This problem has been corrected in the latest U.S. Service Pack for Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5.
