ACC95: Problems Running Microsoft Jet 3.0 on Windows NT 4.0

SYMPTOMS

Moderate: Requires basic macro, coding, and interoperability skills.

When you use Microsoft Jet database engine version 3.0 on Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0, you may experience one or more of the following:

  • Slow performance when you run large queries or execute operations that read Long Value data types (OLE or Memo fields).


  • Microsoft Jet database engine version 3.0 may stop responding (may crash) when used with Microsoft Internet Information Server version 2.0.




RESOLUTION

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Jet database engine version 3.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
