                            CD VOLUME III

  This CD is a collection of many programs.  In order to be able to fit
  more programs on the disc, each program is compressed into a ZIP file.
  Therefore each zip file really contains many files.  Since there are
  over 4700 files on this CD not every single program was tested.  Thus,
  you may experience incompatibility or installation problems on older 
  machines.                       

  All the files are organized into directories that represent the first
  letter of the file name.  The directories are from 0 to 9 and from 
  A to Z.  Thus if you want to look for file names beginning with the
  letter C you would look in the C directory on your CD.

  In order to run a program in your computer, you must first UNZIP it,
  we have provided a small utility program to help you do this.  REMEMBER you 
  can only unzip, or run programs that have a .ZIP extension.  If you see
  other files with other extensions such as .GIF, they are usually picture
  files that you can only bring up with programs that support that particular
  extension.

  On your CD there is a program that will display a list of all the 
  files and allow you to selectively install them.  To run this program, 
  go to the DOS prompt of your CD drive, type MENU and press Enter.

  Once you have the installer program running, the computer will ask 
  which drive letter corresponds to your CD drive.  Select the drive
  letter and press Enter.

  You will now see a list of all files on the CD.  You can scroll this
  list by using the Up and Down arrow keys.

  Press F10 to display a menu of options.

  From this menu, select option # 1 to install a program.

  The computer will then ask you for the program name, answer by simply 
  entering the name of the file that you want to install onto your hard
  drive. Example: TEST.ZIP <Press Enter> (remember to enter the name of 
  the file with the *.ZIP extension).

  At this point the program will ask you for your hard disk drive letter.  
  Select the hard disk letter you want to install to and press Enter.  
  Once you have selected the hard disk, the program will automatically 
  unzip the program into a directory directory named after the selected 
  file (e.g., TEST). 

  The program will display which files were uncompressed and automatically 
  display all the files contained in the ZIP file.

  You will then have the option to go out to the DOS prompt and to run
  the program by typing the name of one of the files that end with one of
  these three extensions : .EXE, .COM,  or .BAT.  Choose the "Shell to 
  Directory"  option from the menu.  Usually the file to run is the one 
  that has a similar name of the program, or they usually have a file name 
  such as GO.BAT or START.BAT, etc.  When you are done running the program,
  type EXIT at the DOS prompt and press Enter.  This will return you to 
  the installer program.

  NOTE: Not all programs may run from the "Shell to Directory" option of 
  the installer software.  This is due to memory limitations of DOS shells.
  If there is insufficient memory to run the program from the DOS shell, 
  quit the CD-ROM installer and then run the program.

  Most programs also have text files with documentation for the software.
  Usually documentation files end with the .TXT or .DOC extension.  The 
  most common convention is a file called README.TXT.  To access those 
  files simply call the DOS edit program with the name of the file, or 
  you can use the browse program found on this disc.

  Example:
  --------
  Edit README.TXT (will allow you to read the README.TXT file)
  or by copying BROWSE.COM from the CD into the program directory, and by 
  typing BROWSE README.TXT.

  NOTE : In order to bring you, virus free software a some programs 
  displayed in the description file may not actually be on the CD disc.

  To quit the CD-ROM installer program and return to the DOS prompt, 
  press ESCAPE and answer "Yes" to the "Exit Filex CD-ROM Installer?" 
  prompt.
