This course is dedicated to Linwood "Lucky Lindy" Bazemore. Now I don't really know Lucky so let me explain.I"ve been designing course's for about two years.I did about 40 JNUG course's but only shared them with a few close friends.I used the given objects and backgrounds and we had a good time with them. Then a friend of mine, Benny Carpenter, told me about Prodigy and showed me a course by Mark Willett, Mulligan's Point.I realized two things immediately. One, a lot of people enjoyed playing and designing course's as much as I did. Two, I had a hell of a lot to learn. With bullheaded determination I set out to design my own objects and backgrounds.I studied the house's by Mark Willett, the trees of Gene Rodriguez, the skies by Scott Chesney and so on.I was ready.Put out my first course, Destiny Draw, and it was a disaster.I'm my own worst critic but I thought I had a good one.Now I look at it and all the objects look the same and blur together.Anyway I im- proved a little with each course and finally did a course called Chastity Springs which I thought was pretty good. The objects came out OK,I'm not an artist and the holes played good.I put it out there and never heard a word about it.It was the best I could do and nobody liked it.For the first time in two years I didn't have a course in the works.I was done.I quit.If the player's don't like your course's your doing something wrong. Two weeks later I signed on Prodigy and to my amazement a fellow named Lucky had done a review of Chastity Springs and really liked it.Now I had seen his name on the board before,he's one of those guys whose always trying to help new members with questions. There's a few of them around, that's what makes Prodigy Golf Tour so special.Guys like Lucky,Michael "Giz" Burdulis,Ron "Blaze" Enfield and Paul "Tree Frog" Conrad to name a few.Anyway it was a good review and several other members added their comments,Roger Johnson and Regis Staley Jr. but it was Lucky who generated the interest and it was sincere so it was all I needed.Three people liked my course.Thank You Lucky Lindy Sincerely Steve Holden Date:3-16-93 Course:Mahoosuc Ridge Location:Maine at border of New Hampshire Type:Original Background:Original Designer:Steve Holden Hole Par Distance Hole Par Distance 1 4 429 10 4 437 2 3 165 11 5 570 3 5 581 12 4 328 4 4 389 13 3 146 5 3 210 14 4 386 6 4 424 15 4 442 7 4 408 16 3 170 8 5 560 17 4 392 9 4 368 18 5 600 TOT 36 3534 36 3471 Course Par 72 Distance 7005 My source for Mahoosuc Ridge was a Sierra Magazine which had a great article on the Northern Forest Lands and included some stunning pictures.Mahoosuc Ridge is actually Mahoosuc Range and Wright's Creek is Wright's Brook. I tried to duplicate the trees with DP2E and ended up with about 60 trees from which I chose about 8 or 9.I damn near recreated the whole forest.I wanted to create an atmosphere that put you deep into the woods with only the sound of the creek bubbling and perhaps your golf balls splashing.Just kidding I'd like to thank Lee Ritze for the use of his dark Evergreen from Gabrielle Gardens and Mark Willett for his rock cluster and single similar rock from Mulligan's Point. The rest of the objects are original. Now for my ecological statement. After reading this article I hope we never see a golf course in this area or anything else for that matter. We have enough areas for course's and this area should be left undisturbed.
