XYZ is not intended to be an X11 protocol viewer like xscope. Tools like xscope are quite useful but do not reveal details internal to the server. XYZ allows X activity to be examined at a much lower level than allowed by protocol viewers. The focus of XYZ is on server internals, not protocol details.
