Version 1.05 - More responsive scrolling, fixed multiple "find" bug, will not mess up dialog boxes (disabled, like find), enabled registration menu.

Version 1.06 - Registration changed so key survives warm boot. Find key behaves more intelligently. Double-click goes to find, but if second click occurs later (say, after mag use) TealMagnify! just exits. Note, if unregistered, register message will delay the second click.

Version 1.07 - Works with all popups and dialog boxes.

Version 1.08 - Application buttons move window sideways.
Window now centers on cursor.

Important note: Before updating or deleting any Hackmaster program, be sure to disable the application first in the Hackmaster control screen.

Description

Thank you for trying TealMagnify!. This is a simple application that provides ever-ready magnifying glass that allows you to enlarge any part of the display from within almost any program.

TealMagnify! hooks itself into the Find silkscreened button to the right of the graffiti area. Fortuitiously, this button already has a magnifying glass image. TealMagnify! is immediately activated when the button is pressed, and you can either double-tap the find button or use the provided onscreen Find button if you just want to do a normal find operation.

TealMagnify! uses the HackMaster System Extensions Manager by Edward Keyes (*See references below). This is a safe and standard way to add and manage extended system functionality on the Pilot.

Use the Pilot installer to install the program file TEALLENS.PRC and HACKMSTR.PRC. TealMagnify! will not appear as a standard program of it's own, but instead is activated through HackMaster. To turn on TealMagnify!, simply click on the HackMaster icon in the applications launcher, and click on the checkmark next to the TealMagnify! entry in the Hacks list.

Using the Program

Simply click on your pilot's silkscreened Find button. Initially, in the lower half of the screen the magnifying window will appear, while the region being magnified is highlighted by a grey box in the upper half of the display. To change the area being magnified, simply click on the region to see or "click and drag" the highlight region around the display. When you move the highlighted region to the lower half of the display, the magnify window automatically snaps out of the way to the top of the display. To read a column of data (such as telephone numbers) use the Pilot up and down scroll buttons to move the magnifying window vertically.

When done, simply click Okay to return to normal operation or click Find to initiate a normal find operation. Alternately, you may also click the silkscreened Find button a second time.
