Logging In

These login procedures are assuming that you have a registered copy of Mobile Account Manager.  If you are using the unregistered version, you will notice the unregistered copy screen at application launch.  For more information on the differences between the registered and unregistered version of Mobile Account Manager please see the Registration section.

When you first install Mobile Account Manager there is no password created and Mobile Account Manager will not prompt you for a password.  Therefore, as you select the Mobile Account Manager icon, the application will launch directly into the account list.

Once you have created a password in the Mobile Account Manager, the application will prompt the user to enter the password.  The password entry field will show boxes for each character entered in order to hide the password.  Once the password has been entered, tap the login button.  If the correct password has been entered then the application will launch into the account list.  If the incorrect password was entered, an error dialog will be displayed and you will have another chance to enter the password.

If at any time you wish to turn off the password feature, you can change the password to a 'blank' password.  Please see the change password section for more information.

Mobile Generation Software has released the 'crippled' version of Mobile Account Manager for general distribution.  The crippled version gives you 20 free uses of the application and then each use will cost you one extra 'tap'.  Each time over 20 that you use the application, a counter increment and you will see 1 more dialog box for before you login.  Therefore, 30 uses of the application will cost you 10 'taps' prior to login.    The registered version also sets the 'backup' bit of the database so you will be sure not to lose your data.

You can register Mobile Account Manager for $19.95 at PalmPilotGear HQ (http://www2.viaweb.com/pilotgearsw/mobgen.html).  Just select the Mobile Generation Software software author and click the 'I want it' button.   You can also contact PalmPilotGear HQ at 800.741.9070.  You will be sent (by email) the registered version which can be installed over the unregistered version with no data loss.
